Compass Team
The Compass Team supports the welfare and pastoral needs of pupils in conjunction with their family.
This can include individual sessions from our Student Support Worker to provide help when a pupil has worries or needs a little extra support with their wellbeing.
The team also work closely with the local NHS Mental Health Support Team who provide early intervention counselling support where pupils have been identified as needing additional support. These sessions are conducted in close consultation with parents.
The Team also has two Family Support Workers who work with families to support with issues that may be impacting family wellbeing. They can provide advice around appropriate support available from outside agencies and help to complete forms for services such as transport and benefits.
The support includes:
· Pupil wellbeing sessions either 1:1 or in small groups
· Support for issues such as bereavement and mild anxiety
· Early Help Assessments
· Support with completing forms or referrals to outside agencies
· Parent workshops and coffee mornings
The team is managed by Mrs Sam Grisewood, Senior Mental Health Lead and Assistant Headteacher.
